The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel is the venue of the 2009 State of the Salmon Conference. It is located near the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Center and in walking distance to Stanley Park and Gastown. The hotel offers discounted group rates for attendees until December 22, 2008.

Please contact the Fairmont Waterfront directly for your hotel accommodation. Room rates are $199 (CAD) per night. To receive this discounted group rate you must identity yourself as a member of the SOS Triennial Conference Group Code: GRSAL1. Book a reservation online, or contact a reservation agent 24 hours a day at +1-800-441-1414 within North America or +604-691-1820 internationally. Rooms are limited, so please make your travel plans as soon as possible.

Discounted Airfare for the State of the Salmon Conference
Uniglobe is offering a 10% discount off the lowest published fares for flights originating in the U.S. or Canada. Flights must be booked at least 30 days prior to departure. If flights are booked within 30 days of departure, Uniglobe is offering a 5% discount off the lowest published fare. Discounts are good on travel dates within five days prior to the conference and up to five days after the conference.

Airport
Attendees may arrive via Vancouver International Airport located on Sea Island in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, about 9 miles (15 km) from downtown Vancouver.
Public transportation, taxis, limos, shuttles, and car rentals are available to downtown Vancouver.

Taxis are readily available at the airport. The approximate fare to downtown Vancouver is $23-$27 CAD (inclusive of all taxes) under normal conditions. - YVR Airporter
The airport shuttle runs from the airport to the Fairmont Waterfront. Departures are from the second level of the airport every 15-30 minutes. - If you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, a valid passport with at least six months validity remaining is required for entry into Canada.
